Home Visit Training

Our training paddock is an excellent place to work on things like lead manners, recall, engagement and controlled reactivity around other dogs and people — and for many dogs, it’s the ideal learning environment.

However, some challenges don’t happen in a training space. They occur at home.

That’s why we now offer Home Visit Training, allowing us to work with you and your dog in the real-world environment where certain behaviours actually occur.

This is especially helpful for issues such as:

• Barking at the front door or in the garden

• Reactivity to people, dogs or noises around the home

• Separation-related behaviours

• Resource guarding

• Confidence or anxiety issues

• Noise sensitivity (traffic, neighbours, deliveries, fireworks)

• Helping a new puppy settle into home life

By seeing your dog in their own space, we can identify what’s really driving the behaviour and build a plan that fits your household, routine and surroundings — while still complementing any paddock-based training you may be doing.

🐾Frequently asked questions🐾

  • At your own home!

They do not take place in parks or walks.

If you are interested in outside training, please see our other courses for more details.

  • If your issue only happens outside the house, then I would suggest our paddock lessons.

Full online and phone support is included in your lessons.

  • You only need to have what you used around the house to manage the dog/puppy. what you usually treat your dog with (including high-value treats e.g. cooked chicken, liver treats, etc) and I will supply the rest.

As we are positive only, we do not recommend the use of slip leads in class, so please make sure your dog has a neck collar/harness and a lead handy, if needed.

  • This is no problem.

Some clients prefer to have the first lesson with the dog they find most challenging and bringing out the rest for the following lesson.

Up to you. Just make us aware.

  • Each lesson is scheduled for an hour with 45-50 minutes making up the lesson with the remaining time for Q&A.

  • All the members of your household are welcome to participate in the training! Children are to supervised at all times (or to remain on a lead for the duration of the lesson!)
